"Gel Hell"

Films: Cool Gel (2011)

Alias: None

Type: Alien

Location: Eldritch Location/Forest/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Can grow from that of slugs to that of small buildings.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Nomadic slug-based lifeforms from space. Are we talking a remake of "Night of the Creeps" here? Not really. It's less of a gory exercise in comedic horror and more a slapstick romp in such. Your mileage may vary.

History: Hailing from space, these small cycloptic beasts, known colloquially as Cool Gel, came to Earth via meteorite to infect humanity, feed off their heat, and take over. But so far, the real part of the invasion has only gotten as far as a suburban home where the neighbors are feuding. Naturally, these buffoons would make for some fine dining/possessing.

Notable Kills: The first victim seen is a dog left frozen from the lack of heat.

Final Fate: Eventually, the place is set aflame, causing the surviving Cool Gel parasites to merge into a titanic beast. But thanks to the discovery of one family’s secret steamed bun ingredient, borax (?!), the beast and the rest of its brethren is defeated.

Powers/Abilities: By entering an orifice, the Cool Gel parasites absorb all heat from their host for their own growth. Enough heat can cause them to grow to gigantic sizes. They can also mere with one another to either breed or get stronger.

Weakness: Smaller ones can be killed via conventional means, but the only way to be sure is extreme cold and/or borax.

Scariness Factor: 2-Parasites are scary. Badly CGI-rendered gel worms aren't that much. The Creeps could give these weak little creatures a few pointers. Sure, they have size on their side eventually, but borax isn't exactly in short supply.

Trivia: -This film was directed by Jaturong Mokjok, whose known for some rather oddball Thai comedies such as "See How They Run" and "Kung Fu Tootsie".

-Borax is actually quite lethal to eat, not just for alien parasites. While not toxic to the touch, eating it can cause nasty organ failure. Still, there is some debate as to just how dangerous this mineral alone is.
